We are a small Bordeaux varietal producer in the Alexander Valley. Focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Malbec, and Merlot all which come off our estate. We are looking for a harvest cellar hand that enjoys working in a small team environment. You would be working side by side with the winemakers gaining a well-rounded learning experience. No experience is needed but willing to train if the candidate has the right can do attitude.
The anticipated timeframe for this internship is August 1 – November 23rd. In addition to the $500 sign-on bonus paid at the end of your internship, we also provide some meals!
Responsible for performing a variety of cellar operations including but not limited to:
• Grape receiving activities
• Wine/must movements
• Additions to wines/musts
• Cap management practices
• Fermentation monitoring Ex. Brix checks, off aromas
• Barrel activities (cleaning/filling/racking)
• Equipment and tank sanitation
• Grape sampling
•Must be reliable, punctual, and engaged
• The ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Understand and comply with all safety requirements
• Perform the physical labor necessary – lift up to 50 lbs, work in various temperatures
• Effective communication skills
• Good reading, writing and math skills
• Must have a positive attitude
• No experience is needed but willing to train if the candidate has the right can do attitude.
